When you write about the success of a company, in particular, privately held companies, you cannot ignore the man who founded and nurtured that company from its humblest beginnings. What does it take to do that kind of thing, what is the motivation, what keeps someone moving forward, no matter what the obstacles’ encountered along the way?

Money is certainly a big motivator for almost all of us, but money is not enough to endure the many challenges that need to be overcome along the journey to achieving success.  There has to be more. What that something more is, is sure to be different with almost everyone. Michael has his life purpose described in his book “The Keys to Wealth and Wellness”, a must read for anyone interested in a successful and fulfilling life.

Ten years ago, Michael Ellison leveraged Ellison Media talent to promote a newly formed direct marketing company selling some of the best preventive health care products on the planet, the company’s name, TriVita. Once TriVita had a foothold in the marketplace and could predictably garner customers from infomercial advertising and all other available media outlets, Michael Ellison took the next step in his plan. He offered an opportunity to individuals to own a home based business, and soon after ‘Cooperative Marketing’ was born, a system allowing his business partners, at home, to participate in the advertising budget and share the profits from customers, a unique and brilliant business model.  Ten years later and you still cannot find an equivalent business model in any other network marketing company.

The full extent of Michael Ellison and his vision for TriVita, is just beginning to blossom, literally blossom in his newest product line ‘Sonoran Bloom’. TriVita is now a well established company, 10 years old, in an industry known to have a 98% failure rate in the first five years of a company’s history. TriVita is growing, even in a climate of hard economic times. The flagship and category maker, the first product in the Sonoran Bloom product line, Nopalea, has been a standout success, almost from the day it launched in March of 2009. Nopalea has already had many, many testimonials regarding the efficacy of this natural nopal cactus fruit drinks to fight inflammation in its many forms, relieving and eliminating the accompanying pain in the human body.

Now TriVita stands poised to deliver the next Sonoran Bloom product, it is rumored to have its debut, or at least the unveiling, in the upcoming annual TriVita Affiliate Member seminar, the Galaxy of Stars, held in Scottsdale Arizona, TriVita’s own home town. The anticipation is building even before the excitement and potential of Nopalea has fully unfolded. Now is truly the most extraordinary time TriVita has experienced in TriVita’s already extraordinary history, The Man at the Helm, who but Michael Ellison, would have the vision.

Stay tuned for the latest from the Galaxy of Stars.  I will be leaving in the early hours tomorrow morning and as soon as I have the exciting updates, I will post them here so you can find out about the latest and greatest from TriVita.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cooperative Marketing model,  call me on 856-264-7802 or go to:  www.ibizadvisor.com.

And ask me why the timing is perfect for you.

I have always heard, from all the marketing gurus, that conventional wisdom dictates, that in order to grab a readers attention, you should use a title with a negative connotation. ‘The Truth About TriVita, is not actually a negative phrase, but our mind interrupts that phrase negatively. Curious creatures, we human beings, why would we be more attracted to negative stories than positive stories? How many positive stories do you hear on the evening news everyday? I don’t know about you, but I grew up in a household where the evening news was not to be missed, so I feel that experience helped to condition me to expect the negative, and to complete that conditioning, I have lived my entire life in New Jersey. Have you read the ‘Soprano State’? If you haven’t you should, and yes, it’s unbelievable, and yes, it’s all true. So, by using those three little words, ‘The Truth About’, I can immediately grab your attention because you expect to hear a negative story, maybe some dirty little deeds, or read an expose on some well known politician or celebrity. Actually, expose` is not used only for the negative, according to Webster, here is the definition of expose’;

“A formal recital or exposition of facts; exposure, or revelation, of something which some one wished to keep concealed.”

Certainly not negative, but it has been so over used by the media that we have become conditioned to expect negative content when we see the word ‘expose`’. The verb, expose` could just as easily be used to expose someone’s charitable deeds not witnessed by others, but what fun would that be? The German language even has a word for this human condition, ‘Schadenfreude’, a loose translation goes something like this, ’finding joy in the misfortune of others’, it seems to be an unconscious reaction, maybe it’s just relief that it’s not you?

But let me get back on track, you expected to hear the truth about TriVita™ and ‘Cooperative Marketing’, and you will hear the truth and nothing but the truth, something I find refreshing in the network marketing world, no hype, just the facts.

I have bounced in and out of network marketing opportunities for too many years to admit to, shortly after my last fiasco, when I swore off any networking opportunities once and for all, for all didn’t last very long. I got a call from a friend about a company named TriVita. Now, I had never heard of TriVita before that day, and I assumed it was just another startup destined for a quick demise of some sort, but what I learned in the next couple of days changed my mind and my life, it truly is that powerful.

If you understand what TriVita puts in front of you, and the magnitude of the possibilities, saying ‘NO’ to the TriVita opportunity is not an option; that is of course, if you are really serious about building a business and not afraid of finally achieving the success you say you want.

When I said that I have been in and out of network for a number of years, I was not exaggerating.  My first experience was with Amway, let’s just say it was before 1970 and I was a teenager.  I didn’t know I was involved in a network marketing opportunity.  I thought I had a part time job selling soap, and the reason I believed that was because that was how it was sold to me. Since then there have been well over a dozen different ‘opportunities’ that I became involved with and I had little or no financial success, and we all understand that financial success is the primary reason someone enters into a business venture. When I say ‘little’ financial success, I mean very little.  These dozen plus opportunities didn’t just end, there would always be no shortage of drama involved in the end, causing even more stress.

Here’s a few examples of the companies that failed with the most drama, for instance; the founder of one company absconds with a boatload of cash, right after the company’s annual gala; another company announces they are cancelling all distributor contracts and you never see a dime of the money they promise to refund; the company doesn’t have the cash to produce the product to fill the orders they currently are holding; bad news hits the press and the company folds overnight (happened three times), and if you can imagine any outlandish scenario involving the demise of a network marketing company, it has probably already happened in network marketing. This type of bad behavior has been common in network marketing, which is why I finally swore off any more network marketing opportunities, that is until TriVita discovered me.

I can’t say I found TriVita for two reasons, someone else introduced me to TriVita™ and it was already a 9 year old company when I joined. Nine years old, now ten at this writing, and still growing and prospering. If you look back at TriVita’s history you can see how the foundation was built, on solid financial footing through sound management and careful planning.

One huge difference I see, is that most network marketing companies are formed by network marketers who had phenomenal success in a previous networking company, or wild eyed entrepreneurs with a goal of ‘Big Fast Cash’. Sound familiar? Now, don’t get me wrong, I am a staunch capitalist by nature and I love the idea of Big Fast Cash, but be serious and think this out, if ‘Big Fast Cash’ is that easy, wouldn’t we all be filthy rich?  Remember what I said, no hype.  Don’t go down the Big Fast Cash Highway.  I know, I’ve been there and it is most assuredly a Dead Broke End, with plenty of misery stops along the way.

When I realized what TriVita offered and that it was past the danger years  (that being any company with less than a five year profitable track record)  I literally jumped into the opportunity that was being offered to me.  No one could have stopped me, not even my promise to myself, swearing that I was done wasting my time and money with network marketing companies, nothing could have stopped me.

So, what made TriVita such a compelling opportunity to me? What was the difference that compelled me to negate my promise to myself  and rush to join TriVita? What was the irresistible offer?  What did TriVita have, that all of the others did not have? What was the overwhelming difference for me?

I’m so glad you asked.  The answer is ‘Cooperative Marketing’, a unique business model that I have not seen or heard of in any other company. What is ‘Cooperative Marketing’ and what makes it a unique business model? In order to easily understand Cooperative Marketing, I have to give you a brief history of TriVita and how the Cooperative Marketing business model developed, it plays out more or less as follows.

The founder of TriVita™, Michael Ellison, for personal health reasons decided to create a company dedicated to producing and distributing the highest quality neutraceutical supplements available in the marketplace, and he succeeded with TriVita.

I may have jumped ahead a little, first, let me introduce Michael Ellison. Almost 30 years before Michael Ellison founded TriVita, he was already a successful business owner, he founded and grew, an industry leading, advertising media company, which carries his name, Ellison Media. Ellison Media has been growing and prospering under Michael Ellison’s guidance for over 30 years. Ellison Media, among other media venues, produces and airs many of the infomercials you see on television.  Can you see where this is going? Direct sales company of sorts, founded by an industry leading owner of an advertising media company, watch out for the falling ton of bricks!

Here’s how TriVita gets it done. TriVita™ garners customers from the airing of infomercials as well as ‘all’ other sources of available media, such as; newsprint, magazines, direct mail, and the airing of radio commercials. Through these efforts, TriVita now has over 2.5 million active customers, and they acquire over 1000 new customers daily, that’s customers, not prospective customers.  These are people who have actually purchased a product from TriVita.

Now the exciting part for me and you, if you can see what I saw in TriVitas’ form of ‘profit sharing’, called ‘Cooperative Marketing’.  ‘Cooperative Marketing’ is TriVitas’ answer to controlling their advertising budget and our answer to a successful business without ever having to sell anything to anyone. Here’s how ‘Cooperative Marketing’ works: TriVita allows its’ affiliate members to acquire customers from TriVitas’ advertising efforts and yes there is a fee for this ‘service’, but that fee is far less than the cost of advertising on my own, to acquire that same customer. I know this to be true, because I have attempted to acquire customers through various means of advertising in the other businesses I spoke about earlier.

Advertising is better left to professionals. If you are new to advertising, it will consume whatever budget you have and demand more.  It can become a ‘Black Hole’, drawing in all of your cash and returning disappointing results. With TriVitas’ ‘Cooperative Marketing’, you have a reasonable fixed cost to ‘advertise’, and you have guaranteed results, live customers.

Once you have purchased that customer, you now ‘own’ the commission rights to that customer for life, yes, for life! The first time my new customer reorders I get a 40% bonus on that entire order and a 21% commission every time my customer orders any product after that initial reorder. No other network marketing company offers anything remotely resembling TriVitas’ ‘Cooperative Marketing’ program, not one, and that is what separates ‘success’ with TriVita and ‘failure’ with 98% of the ‘others’.  TriVitas’ ‘Cooperative Marketing’ program is like buying ‘Business Insurance’ against failure.

TriVita doesn’t require you to participate in the ‘Cooperative Marketing’ program, that decision is entirely up to you.  It is your business and how you choose to grow or not grow that business is your decision. However, unless you are a marketing genius, this is the best way that I have seen to steadily grow your business with the least amount of time and money invested. In order to offer the new customers to all Affiliate Members, TriVita allows you to purchase from 1 to 100 new customers each month, there are no minimum requirements, but 100 is the maximum allowed per month. So to call TriVita a network marketing company, would technically be a true statement, but you can see by reviewing the ‘Cooperative Marketing’ program, it is more than that.  I would rather call it a network marketing hybrid on steroids.

I have a tendency to focus on the single most compelling reason that I became an affiliate member with TriVita, but for many the most important reason to become an affiliate member with TriVita, was the was the wide array of available products and the science, testing and quality control that goes into each and every product that TriVita offers its’ customers and affiliate members.

When Michael Ellison puts his good name on a business he stands behind that business 110%.  One of the reasons he founded TriVita was the inability to find quality health supplements in the marketplace he needed. When he did his research for the quality and types of products he wanted for his own use, they were not to be found. Today TriVita is a neutraceutical industry leader. Michael Ellison continues to lead TriVita with the same high standards he has stood for his entire life.

Actually, I have kept that promise to myself, you see, I really am done wasting my time and money.  I am in the right place at exactly the right time, TriVita.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cooperative Marketing model,  call me on 856-264-7802 or go to:  www.ibizadvisor.com.

And ask me why the timing is perfect for you.

THE MIND KILLER

THE MIND KILLER

The Mind Killer, spooky title, right? What do you think it might be? Maybe some slimy wormlike thing slips into your bedroom in the dark of night, crawls into your ear while you are dead asleep and eats your brain, or this really scary looking creature from the planet Luzur 3, which kind of looks like a humanoid lizard, places it’s lizard like claws in each of your ears and liquefies your brain, or like in this old movie, Screamers, these very ordinary looking people have the ability to destroy your mind with a massive cerebral hemorrhage, causing death, just by concentrating on you.

Nope, by now, this shouldn’t surprise anyone, go into your bathroom, take a good look in the bathroom mirror and you will see ‘The Mind Killer’ staring back at you. Yes, that’s correct, you and only you have the ability to destroy your mind, unless of course you give permission to someone else and allow them to destroy your mind. We do that from time to time. I bet you can even remember the last time you allowed someone to do just that. I can, and I am grieved to report that it really wasn’t all that long ago.

The real ‘Mind Killer’ I am referring to is F-E-A-R, one of our most primal instincts; the instinct of self preservation, fear is a major contributor if not, the largest contributor to the survival and proliferation of the human race. When there is danger, fear kicks in and tells us to run, run very fast, away from the perceived threat, which usually insures that some will survive and the giant organism, known as the human race will continue. That’s what ‘Instincts’ are all about, survival of the species. Take a walk through the woods, almost any forest animal you come across will run away, you are a perceived threat to their survival, their fear tells them to run. On the other hand, if you come across one that does not fear you and runs in your direction, you may want to do an about face and start running away as fast as possible, your own survival could be in question.

We are thinking and reasoning beings, our Creator made us that way, and even though fear is a basic instinct in all creatures large and small, through thought and reasoning, we can overcome our fears. Many examples exist in our everyday lives and some of us have even learned to overcome the basic instinct of self preservation in our daily jobs. I am talking about soldiers on the battle field, police and firemen risking their lives to save others. We call these people ‘Heroes’ and rightfully so, at any time they could be asked to forfeit their lives for the lives of others. They have learned to overcome their fear and the most basic human instinct of self preservation in order to serve the ‘General Good’.

First, let’s look at fear, Fear as an instinct, is a pretty darn good instinct, judging by the number of people on the planet, it has done an excellent job, that job of course, being the preservation and proliferation of the species, so it definitely has a place in our lives. Given the correct circumstances, fear is necessary, it stops us from doing really dumb things that could put an end to our existence, so we don’t want to eliminate fear. Fear is a necessary part of our being. Overcoming our fears and enabling ourselves to function under perceived threatening circumstances, making our fears less pronounced, is the goal. The heroes I mentioned earlier are not without fear, they have learned to control their fears and to function under perilous and life threatening situations. So, tell me , just how scary is that telephone?

IDENTIFYING THE MIND KILLER

Like many of you, I am concerned with building a business and how to change whatever it is that gets in the way of having the success I deserve in that business. The remainder of this writing will specifically address the ‘Fear of Failure’, as it pertains to that issue. The Fear of Failure has a myriad of contributing ‘sub-fears’, don’t bother to lookup sub-fears, it’s one of my terms, but you will understand as you read on.

My personal Fear of Failure is primarily composed of three major sub-fears; Fear of Inadequacy, Fear of Rejection and Fear of the Telephone. Fear of the Telephone could actually be considered a sub-fear of the Fear of Rejection. As you can probably guess by now, I have given a great deal of time and energy in order to categorize and analyze my Fear of Failure. Believe me it was no small task, in order to identify your fears, you must first admit that you fear something, and then try to figure out what it is that you fear. It may sound easy, but for me it wasn’t easy to admit that, some of the tasks that scared me the most, were the very keys to success in my internet business..

Learn to take personal ownership of your fear; after all you are its creator. You create it almost everyday, but strangely, it almost always owns you. If you allow it to control you, it owns you and you will do what it dictates. Ask yourself these questions, ‘How can I allow something I, myself, create out of the ether, control my actions and stifle my success? Do I allow the Fear of the Failure, to keep me from becoming successful?’ In other words, just the fear of failure, insures that I will fail, because I will not do some of the things necessary to succeed. Successful people are not without the same fears as everyone else, but they have decided to control their fear and do what they are uncomfortable doing, because their Success is more important than doing the uncomfortable tasks it takes to succeed. What side of the ‘Equation of Fear’ do you want to be on? Don’t we all want to be successful?

If we learn to use our fear, it is actually just another very useful tool. If we are just a little fearful, it keeps us alert and at the top of our game, ready to handle anything that pops up we weren’t expecting. So, if we learn to control our fear, we can consciously use our fear to our advantage. It will keep us sharp, focused and on our ‘A’ game. Our bodies naturally produce a chemical called ‘Adrenalin ‘. Fear releases Adrenalin into our bodies, one of the effects of this Adrenalin ‘rush’ causes our minds to be extremely alert. I think that gives us a distinct advantage when dealing with someone who is not operating from a position having a little fear.

In order to address my fears, I had to get past my denial. I did not believe I was consciously avoiding these uncomfortable tasks because I was afraid to take the necessary actions, I convinced myself that I needed to perform more important tasks first. Once I could admit my fears to myself, get past my denial, it became clear to me that avoiding the phone did much more damage to my business then I originally thought. So, tell me again, just how scary is that telephone?

CONTROLLING THE MIND KILLER

First, let’s talk about the Fear of Inadequacy, which could also be referred to as ‘Self-Doubt’. I think almost all of us at one time or another, participates in the Fear of Inadequacy. We see our leaders on stage addressing an audience and we say to ourselves, ‘I could never be that guy, I don’t speak as well as that guy does, I have a Jersey accent and it just doesn’t sound like that when I speak and I’m not as educated or as polished as ‘that guy’.

I am done struggling with this fear; I decided to take a positive approach to address my Fear of Inadequacy. I’m sure there are plenty of people harboring the Fear of Inadequacy, and they would be so encouraged to see and hear me on the stage, telling the story of my trials and tribulations on my journey to wealth and wellness. After hearing me speak and watching me on stage, they would probably be thinking, ‘If that guy can be successful in this business, I know I can do this business and be successful, he has a Jersey accent, and he is not very polished, I can probably do better than that guy’. My success will certainly help to encourage others who secretly harbor the Fear of Inadequacy. I think I’ve come to terms with the Fear of Inadequacy, I now see this as a distinct advantage for me, everyone will know the successful guy with the Jersey accent, and if he can do it, so can they.

To really attack the Fear of Failure, I had to get down in the weeds and examine the two major sub-fears that make up my Fear of Failure, yours could be different. The Fear of the Telephone and Fear of Rejection are kind of one and the same. In order to get rejected I first must speak to someone. I usually do this on the telephone or at least I am supposed to call prospects on the telephone, but I always find something more important to do, like check my back office to see how my business is doing, check my email and see if anyone that I haven’t talked to has sent me an email, that way I could answer their email and not have to call them, a term for this is avoidance. So by not calling them I avoid my Fear of the Telephone and my Fear of Rejection, if I don’t call them, they can’t reject me by saying ‘NO’, problem solved, right ? I would do anything to delay or avoid picking up the telephone and calling a prospect. An attitude adjustment was definitely needed and in short order. I had to Decide, what was more important to me, success and providing for my family like I want to, or facing a few uncomfortable situations on the telephone. It was My Decision to make, was I willing to do what was necessary to succeed or once more experience failure to launch.

In ‘Identifying the Mind Killer’, I wrote, just the fear of failure, insures that I will fail, so exactly what was it that was at the root of my two biggest fears? The most common Fear of Failure is probably rooted in the Fear of Rejection. I won’t speak to someone on the telephone, because I am afraid I won’t say the right things and the person on the other end of the phone won’t want to join me in my internet business opportunity or won’t want my product and say ‘NO’.

What happens when I call a prospect? One of two things, either, the prospect is interested or the prospect is not interested. If the prospect says ‘No’, what does that mean to me? It can’t be a personal rejection, more times then not, the person on the other end of the telephone never met me or ever will meet me, especially if they are not interested in what I am offering. How about this, if everyone says no, I will fail in this business. True, but if I call enough people some are bound to be interested, it’s just the Law of Averages and if I don’t call enough people, I just increased my chances for failure. The answer was obvious, I had to Decide that I have a greater fear of not being successful in my business than I have of the telephone or rejection. I am only afraid of the telephone because it could lead to rejection. It’s really not the telephone I fear, it’s the rejection that might happen when I call someone and ask them ‘How can I help you’. I had to learn to mentally say to myself, ‘OK, another no out of the way before I get the ‘YES’ I am looking for, next please’.

I Decided, that failing in my business was just not an option and when you approach your fears logically, you can use those fears to your advantage. I no longer have a Fear of Rejection, the faster I get the ‘No’s’ out of the way, the faster I get to the ‘Yes’.

Once the Fear of Rejection was conquered, my Fear of the Telephone was gone as well.

The biggest obstacle standing between you and your personal and financial success is your own ‘FEARS’. So, please tell me for the last time, just how scary is that telephone?

Baby Steps to A New Business

I want to talk about something I often hear from people I talk to who say they truly want to start a business and be their own boss.  They share with me they never want to cower in fear again when cutbacks are threatened, but they never do start their own business because they don’t have adequate capital to be successful, when really all that really comes down to is excuse number 2, which is ‘I can’t afford it, or I don’t have the money’. I know we have all heard of people on welfare who started their own businesses and in time became quite successful. How did they do it?

If you are a parent, you know what ‘Baby Steps’ are and for all others, it’s when your little ones started to try and walk, you no doubt encouraged them to just take ‘Baby Steps’. They of course wanted to start out running, and we all know they can’t do that, they just aren’t ready. In time with enough ‘Baby Steps’, they will no doubt be running through the house playing and just enjoying the success in overcoming their vertical challenge.

Almost everything we have to overcome in life is at first as daunting as taking our first ‘Baby Steps’. Starting your own business is not any different than any other challenge you faced in your life experience; learning to walk, our first day of school, learning to drive, graduations, first job, marriage, children, etc. Life is supposed to be challenging.  It is what makes us grow and prosper as human beings and without challenges you would not be who you are today.

O.K., so you don’t have a lot of money to start a business.  I realize that not everyone had a rich uncle who left them a fortune (I surely didn’t). And, we all know what happens in a conventional business when it is under capitalized; it usually fails in short order. I have watched stores open and close within a few months, some in a few in weeks. They had one issue or another, but the most common reason for failure is that there was not enough working capital available to allow sufficient time for customers to find your business and come to value your goods or services.

Everyone starts on Day One. Some of us have a distinct advantage when it comes to working capital. If used wisely, adequate working capital can make a difference as to how fast our business grows and buys the time necessary for customers to find and value your offerings. That advantage is somewhat diminished in an online business because the smallest business can appear to be as big and successful as any other. The playing field is definitely flatter online.

How do you take advantage of the flatter playing field, on a limited budget?

That leads me to the case in point.  I have entrusted my future and retirement plans to a company named TriVita. TriVita has eliminated ‘waiting for customers to appreciate your goods or services’ problem as well as the need for lots of cash on hand, otherwise known as adequate working capital. They did this by offering lifetime commissions to customers, for a fee, to their affiliate members.  These are real customers who have already made the first purchase from TriVita.

They call this ‘Cooperative Marketing’.

The fee TriVita collects from you for each customer that you receive lifetime commissions is used to subsidize TriVita’s advertising budget and this allows TriVita to get more customers faster with less of their own working capital and make even more customers available to their affiliate members.

The customer issue is rectified in no uncertain terms. But, what about the money issue? That’s been addressed by TriVita as well.  TriVita has an entry point as low as $35.00.   This takes away Excuse No. 2. Now, it is true, since you still have limited working capital that you won’t be able to purchase as many customers from TriVita as someone else with more available cash and this takes us right back to ‘Baby Steps’.

No, you cannot grow your business as fast as someone with more money than you, someone who buys more customers than you, but you can grow your business just as big, over time. It will take you longer, but it will happen if you are consistent and persistent. If you start out with as much as you can afford, without hurting your loved ones, and consistently buy what customers you can afford, and reinvest a portion of the commission generated by the customers you have, over time your business will grow. Failure to launch always has and always will guarantee failure.

Remember the story about the Tortoise and the Hare?  It’s kind of like ‘Baby Steps’, don’t you think? I haven’t even told you about TriVita’s team build philosophy, that allows you to share this business with others and make money another way. I’ll save that for later.

Probably, the biggest obstacle in our lives, the one always rearing its ugly head, is, our own Fear. I take personal ownership of my fear simply because I am it’s creator. I create it almost everyday, but it owns me, if I allow it to control me, it owns me and I will do what it dictates.

Just writing these words and actually putting it on paper shames me. How can I allow something I, myself, create out of the ether, control my actions and stifle my success? Do I allow fear, the real ‘F’ word, Failure, to keep me from becoming successful? In other words, fear of failure insures that I will fail, because I will not do some of the things necessary to succeed, because I might fail doing them. Does that sound logical to you? If it does, I wish you all the best life will G-I-V-E to you, just sit back and hope for a stimulus check, or maybe even a bailout. I can’t help you because you refuse to help yourself.

In an earlier post I started to look at whether or not MLM worked.  As I had mentioned. . .

If the answer you are looking for is a resounding ‘NO’, then you have come to the right place!

To read the first part of this post, go HERE.

To read the second part of this post, go HERE

After you read my initial thoughts, read on to see the journey I took that allowed me to find the answers to whether MLM really works and how in this post, I show you the CURE!

What were the chances of finding the opportunity I just described in my prior posts? The power of the 3 x 3 matrix within a customer based business plan is in a word, omnipotent. Big circles surrounded by hundreds if not thousands of little circles equates to unstoppable, true residual income. Just because I never heard of a company like this didn’t mean that it didn’t exist, right?

Well, I didn’t find it, but it did exist, a very good friend of mine from the last failed shinny new business called me one day and said, ‘You are not going to believe what I found, you have to take a good look at this business and tell me what you think.’  This happened a month or so after the last shinny new business folded and if anyone else had called me I would have said ‘Thank you for thinking of me, but no thanks I’m not interested, I am finished contributing my hard earned income to someone else’s bottom line, I am getting off the merry-go-round.’, and it would have been my loss, not theirs.

I took a look, a long look, I went deep into the websites and ‘Googled’ the company name looking for negative press of some kind. To my amazement, I couldn’t find anything - everything I found was good news.

This company wasn’t MLM or Network Marketing, although it had borrowed a multi tier business structure for profit sharing and business building and that was were the similarity ended. In my opinion, the multi tier structure of MLM/Network Marketing is the only part of that business that attracts people to join to begin with, take that away and I’m seventeen again selling soap door to door. The next day and more than a few phone calls later, I wanted in and I wanted in now. Here was a ten year old successful company, that for a fee to cover the cost of advertising, sold you the commission rights to a customer for life. After you acquire a customer from this company, they continue to market to your customer with at least 18 contacts a year, including a monthly full color product brochure, with no additional cost to you. This company has a unique business model that they call ‘Cooperative Marketing’ allowing you to acquire customers from their efforts and then does the rest of the work for you, that’s what I call a level playing field. The team I joined has a 3 x 3 team build matrix that maximizes the company compensation plan. The customers that you acquire through the company’s advertising efforts pay a generous 40% bonus on the first reorder and 21% for all preceding customer orders for life.

Now, here comes the icing on the cake. This company just launched an all natural new sizzle product that is a category maker/breaker with mass appeal and it is projected to be their first Billion Dollar product.  Volume is already exploding in the rank and file and the infomercials don’t start until August.  So, I got a ground floor opportunity in a now ten year old, established, successful, debt free company. Oh, I forget to mention, the owner and founder of this company also owns and operates an extremely successful 38 year old media production company that makes the infomercials - it couldn’t get any better. My business is growing every month and so is my check. This business works the same way for everyone.

If you want to find out more, and you really owe yourself that much, go to my website at:
www.ibizadvisor.com

There is a wealth of information there.  Do your due diligence and make sure you watch the opportunity presentation, the compensation video and be sure to review the FAQ’s, Frequently Asked Questions.

These 3 are essential to gathering the information you need to understand the opportunity that is available with this company.

Take a look and then call me on 856-264-7802 and let me know if you see what I saw about why this is the last business you’ll ever have to join.

Does MLM Really Work - Part II

In an earlier post I started to look at whether or not MLM worked.  As I had mentioned. . .

If the answer you are looking for is a resounding ‘NO’, then you have come to the right place!

To read the first part of this post, go HERE.

After you read my initial thoughts, read on to see the journey I took that allowed me to find the answers to whether MLM really works.

With Herbal Life, it really started,  just before the all the bad publicity began and it fell apart, a condition that lasted for a couple of years before it got back on it’s feet with new distributors, myself not included.

I joined NuSkin a few months before it took a nose dive and my entire up-line and down-line disappeared over night.

Omni-Trition, the oatmeal raisin diet cookie, worked great, I lost 20 pounds in a month, just before the company went belly up because they couldn’t afford to produce the product.

And, quite a few more that lasted a few months, more and less, before going out of business for one reason or another. The list of failures is long and way too tedious to continue, if the truth be told, I would rather not remember. By the end of this train wreck I was devastated and many thousands of dollars lighter in the wallet and a number of my former friends and many, many people I met along the way were done with me and my ‘pyramid schemes’.

Have you ever spoken to someone you know would be a real asset to your business, as well as being super successful in their own business, only to have them tell you they don’t  want to be involved with one of your  ‘pyramid schemes’, that never work anyway. Did you feel like an idiot? I did. I am forbidden for life by my wife, at the threat of divorce, to talk to friends or relatives about any business opportunity I am involved with, no matter how great it may be, it is Verboten. I don’t really believe she would divorce me for that, but I don’t want to push the envelope.

So that being said, chances are you are not currently a friend or relative of mine, so I am free to continue with my story. No, I am not going to try and sell you something, I am a lousy salesman, I just tell my story and you are of course, free to do whatever it is you care to do. Fair enough? Good, here goes.

As you can see I had an unbelievable run of ‘Bad Luck’, I seemed to get involved just in time to watch and unfortunately participate in the collapse of so many MLM businesses, it was surreal. But, actually no, if you think about it, my story really isn’t so unique, if it were I would certainly be looking for the black cloud following me around and raining on my parade. My story sounds like so many other people’s stories that I have listened to over the years, that you come to realize that this is MLM. An unreasonable 95% of the people that get involved in MLM businesses will never collect a check, no not one check, even a larger percentage will never make a profit. Time after time I listened to my story being told by someone else, oh there were variations on the theme, but basically they all sounded like the same broken record playing over and over again. Are you seeing the pattern here, it wasn’t a run of ‘Bad Luck’ for me, any more than it was a run of ‘Bad Luck’ for anyone else who has experienced the same results. With MLM or Network marketing the deck is stacked against you.

It is my opinion that MLM or Network Marketing ‘Programs’ should never be considered or promoted as a business.

A common definition of a business is;

“A commercial activity engaged in as a means of livelihood or profit, or an entity which engages in such activities.”

Technically speaking, this may sound like a definition that might be applied to an MLM program, but what is not stated but rather inferred, is that there are people participating in this commercial activity as customers, the life blood of any business is ‘customers’, in other words, someone, hopefully many someone’s who are buying and consuming or using the product or service in which the ‘business’ is engaged.

Where do MLM’s and Network Marketing organizations miss the mark?

Let me start at my beginning with Amway. I was spending three nights a week, more if I could arrange it, drawing circles on a whiteboard, which by the way, Amway sold to me, and describing 3 x 3 matrix organizations to a largely disinterested, small, very small group of people. Actually, most of the time it was only one person, and I felt fortunate to have found one person who was interested enough to see my ‘napkin’ presentation. To my knowledge, Amway, was the first to ingeniously use the 3 x 3 matrix, in fact, maybe they invented it as well, if this isn’t true I stand corrected as I don’t know for sure. In my presentation, you of course, are the first circle, and you recruit 3 and each of those 3 recruit 3 and so on to infinity. Has anyone ever said to you, ‘You only need to recruit 3 people, certainly you know 3 people who want to earn extra money, don’t you’? Again, the first time I heard this was from my Amway sponsor, I believe this was also invented by Amway. What was missing from that presentation then and is still missing in MLM and Network Marketing companies of today; is the hundreds of little circles that should be surrounding each of the larger circles. Can you guess what those hundreds of missing little circles represent? If your answer was Customers!  You are absolutely correct.

Customers, remember the life’s blood of any commercial enterprise. If your only customers are your fellow ‘business owners’ that you or your downline recruited, please explain to me, exactly how that ‘business’ is going to be sustained over the long haul. If only people in business with you are your customers, exactly how many customers are you going to have to recruit? What happens when one or two of your business associates decide to try something different. Since they are one and the same, your customer left you when you and your business associate parted ways, which depletes your customer base by a significant revenue share. Anyone is easily disillusioned when they are continually spending more money per month standing in for your missing customer, then they are realizing as revenue. They started a business because they expected to benefit financially, not to be your customer. Yes, every business owner should be a consumer of their own products, it just makes sense. How else can you explain the benefits of your products to your customer if you have not first experienced these supposed benefits, without personal experience it is only hearsay and advertising, and your customer can get that 25 to 30 times an hour from their favorite TV show.

So, in large part, MLM and Network Marketing ‘business’ fail because they lack the cornerstone of any commercial enterprise, that being, enough customers to sustain and allow the business to prosper. Put simply, no one is making money, except for the few fortunate people at the very top of the matrix, and if you look closely and have been around the industry long enough, it is usually the same individuals, known industry wide as ‘Heavy Hitters’ making the lions share of the money.

These ‘Heavy Hitters’ move from program to program and have a ‘following’ or ‘downline’ that largely moves from program to program when they move. They are usually greeted into the new program with a lot of fanfare and are almost instantly successful, moving up the ranks in days or weeks where someone else would most assuredly take months or even years to accomplish. This is largely due to the fact that many of their previous business associates follow them into the new business which gives them instant success and credibility. Everyone wants to recruit a ‘Heavy Hitter’. Even with this addition to any business, you still should be asking yourself, where are the customers? The ‘Heavy Hitter’ you just were fortunate enough to recruit, will move again and a large part of your income will disappear with them, and you will be left with no customers, again. Have you ever heard the very true and wise saying, ‘History repeats itself’, well, it most certainly does, you can count on it.

How depressing was that, you are now almost prepared to deal with the realities of MLM / Network Marketing, free of the hype spewed by the almost everyone on the other end of that email or telephone who want to offer you the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of their shinny new business opportunity. This brings me to the last point I want to cover. The ‘shinny new business opportunity, it comes with a 98% failure rate. The 98% was not a typo, I have been involved with more than one ground floor opportunity and they all ended in disaster. My last ground floor opportunity lasted almost two years, I thought I had a 2 percenter, I was on the verge of success, or so I thought, and than, suddenly, it went from full steam ahead to gone in less than a week. It always seems to happen fast and without warning. A shinny new business sounds like the right way to go, be the first on your block and all that, the trouble with a startup is the 98% factor. You can only hope it will last longer then the last shinny new business opportunity you joined, who knows, maybe this one is in the 2% category. Do you really want to roll those dice and just see what happens? The better idea is to minimize risk, cut down on the chance that the business you decided to do will go belly up in a month or a year, look for a business that has been around and successful for at least a five year period. Most business savvy entrepreneurs won’t even consider anything with less than a five year track record.

I finally got it, if I was really serious about being successful in my own home based business I had to get serious about what I did, how I did it and where I put my resources. I had to find a business that had been established for at least 5 years, one with a proven track record, one that was customer based and not just an organization of distributors buying products and collecting commissions from each other and last but not least, a business that was capable of replacing my six figure plus income. Quite the tall order, right? As if my requirements weren’t tough enough, I decided that this had to be my last attempt to build a successful home business. I was getting too close to the end of my career to risk much more capital chasing a dream. I had to find the right opportunity or retire from my pursuit of a successful home based business. I finally had the right formula now I had to find the right opportunity and it wasn’t going to be easy and maybe this opportunity didn’t even exist. My search criteria eliminated any shinny new business, no distributor based business and the remuneration had to lean to the extraordinary. Remember, it’s do or die time, no halfway measures and no half hearted attempts, there was no room for ‘Ok, I guess I will give this one a try.’ This had to be the real deal.

Cooperative Marketing TriVita Style, is quite simple and at the same time, a revolutionary concept. In a sentence cooperative marketing is accurately described as follows; for a fee, TriVita will allow an Affiliate Member to acquire the lifetime commission rights to a customer developed from the advertising efforts of the company.

It seems simple enough, and not a hard concept to understand. But, in reality, there is quite a bit more than meets the eye. I first assumed, and we all know what happens when you assume, the company was just taking advantage of another possible revenue source, and that is how it almost certainly appears on the surface. In reality, I could not have been more wrong. When a qualified affiliate member acquires a customer from TriVita, it’s not the end of TriVita’s involvement in the life cycle of the customer, actually TriVita’s role in the marketing of your newly acquired customer is just beginning.

Customer Acquisition for TriVita begins with advertising and never really ends. TriVita shoulders the expense and responsibility of turning a prospect into a customer, which we all know is no small feat. TriVita does this using multiple media sources, including TV Infomercials, internet advertising, radio spots and print media, like newspapers and magazines. A prospect responds to the advertising and a percentage of the prospects become customers. TriVita then makes it’s new customer available to affiliate members to add to their growing list of personal customers. When an affiliate member acquires a customer from TriVita, the most important sale, the hardest sale, has already been made, that is, of course, the first sale.

Customer Development by TriVita is a continuing commitment to your success. I believe a reasonable expectation would be that TriVita’s role in growing your business, ended when you paid TriVita a fee in order to acquire a real live customer who just purchased a TriVita product. All companies in a business like TriVita happily offer you a business opportunity and that is where their involvement in the success of your business ends, no other company offers to fill your new business with real customers, someone who just purchased a product.

Now TriVita really steps up to the plate and goes to work. TriVita continues to market to your customers every month. Each month every customer in your business, whether purchased from TriVita or acquired through your own initiative, receives a full color product brochure that explains the benefits of each TriVita product, as well as advertises sales and introduces new product offerings to your valued customers. Emails are also sent to your customers with Health Tips and other useful information, this also helps in building a strong brand and establish good customer relations. Your customer also receives a quarterly Vita Journal with company news and product announcements, further helping to brand your business and deepen relationships.

In any other business opportunity, building a customer base is your problem, maintaining and marketing to that customer base, also your problem. All of this is included in the original fee TriVita charged you for the generous lifetime commission rights for that customer.

Please don’t tell TriVita, but I don’t think they charged me enough to cover their cost for these services.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cooperative Marketing model call me on 856-264-7802.

Great products create great wealth and that’s what we have with TriVita.

DOES MLM ACTUALLY WORK?

If the answer you are looking for is a resounding ‘NO’, then you have come to the right place.

Some try to differentiate between MLM (multi-level marketing) and Network Marketing, personally, I don’t see much of a difference, in fact, none whatsoever, a pig in a dress, is still a pig.

Let me give you a little history about myself and my personal experience with MLM businesses.

I was seventeen and a junior in high school when I joined Amway for the first time, it was the winter of 1963. I didn’t know it was MLM, I saw an ad for a part time job, I don’t even remember where I saw the ad.

Long story short, I filled out an application and started selling soap door to door as well as to my family. I had no idea I was in an MLM business, I had sold products door to door since I was about 12 years old, Cloverine Brand Salve and American Greeting Cards were my flagship products. It was how I made my spending money. There was always a closet in my parent’s home that stored my inventory. I bought products from different companies I found in magazines and sold them for a profit, sometimes at retail, but most of the time at a discount. I made some money and had a few loyal customers who loved my products or maybe they just felt sorry for the kid on the bicycle. Amway’s laundry detergent, SA8 was by far the most popular product I sold.

In all the time I was selling Amway products, half of my junior year and all of my senior year, I never once heard from anyone in my upline. I was totally unaware that an upline existed. I was buying and selling soap for a profit. I first heard about my sponsor when Amway informed me that he had resigned from Amway, and if I had a new sponsor, I never heard from him either.

After I graduated from high school in June of 1964, I left Amway behind and entered the Army, still not aware that I had been in an MLM business.

It was some years later that I was actually infected with MLM Disease, a disease that is usually feared and at the same time, detested by the victim’s spouse. An affliction similar to Malaria in that once you have contracted the condition, it only temporarily subsides, usually after a large dose of the temporary cure, commonly referred to as absolute disillusionment and failure, but it is never really cured and has a tendency to flare up uncontrollably every time you are approached by someone with an unbelievable opportunity. Do you recognize these symptoms? Since you are reading this, you most likely have fallen victim to the disease already and spend a great deal of your time, just like I did, searching for that elusive permanent cure. Success!

I have been in an out of numerous multi-level businesses for the past 20 or 30 years. There was a repeat at Amway, some 20 plus years ago, I ran around from one appointment to the next drawing circles on a whiteboard, and spent a fair amount of my time being stood up at one fast food restaurant or another. After three years I finally stopped going to meetings. My Amway experience proved to be so painful and costly I thought I was completely and irreversibly cured of MLM fever forever. In fact I ignored all attempts and pleas to get involved in any and all of the best opportunities coming down the pike. I thought I had beaten the addiction and would never fall victim to an irresistible offer again. Foolish me, I obviously didn’t understand the deep and powerful pull of this addiction. I now liken it to a Black Hole, once caught in it’s field of influence, it’s almost impossible to escape. I didn’t realize at the time that there could only be one cure for this addiction.   Success!

Have Your Dreams Become Reality

To see a shadow and think it is a tree-that is a pity; but to see a tree and to think it a shadow can be fatal.
- Phyllis Bottome

After a lot of research and due diligence, I decided to join TriVita and I know this sounds cliché but this is your chance in a lifetime to get out of the rat race, to get rid of those debts and be able to have your dreams become reality.

Why TriVita?

They’re a mission-based, customer driven health and wellness company founded in 1999 by Michael Ellison, and located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

It’s not a start up so you don’t have to worry about the company disappearing or failing as most start ups do. They have a 10 year proven track record.

If being involved in a business that’s based on purpose and integrity is important to you, then read on and find out more on why this business is so unique:

Here are some more reasons why I feel this is the perfect business:

* TV Infomercials Sell For You
* Company does all the Follow Up
* No Stocking Products, if you don’t want to
* No Selling to Customers, if you don’t want to
* Customer Back-End Marketing
* No Daily Operation Headaches
* Unique and Healthy Business Model
* Different Ways of being paid with a unique compensation model

Many people join businesses at home seeking to leave their full time job or to have extra money to help pay those bills and live their life more fully.

But sadly, most of them NEVER earn a single check!

The one main reason for this is because most people don’t like to sell.

A healthy business model is one based on customers, not distributors. If you share a business with someone else and they choose to leave, your income will drop. If you have a business based on customers, then you have true residual income

In a business focused more on enrolling some distributors, most will never build a re-ordering customer base because they’re resistant to having to sell, which is the backbone of ANY business.

True residual income is ONLY created one way… customer acquisition and customer retention.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cooperative Marketing model or the Share and Earn model with the new product, Nopalea, call me on 856-264-7802.

Great products create great wealth and that’s what we have with TriVita.

First, let me say I have nothing against heavy hitters or experienced network marketers. If you want to join me, I will welcome you to the team. I believe anyone who takes a close look at this business will find, as I did that this is the last business you will ever have to join. However, in many training seminars they always talk about signing up that heavy hitter and your business will explode.

It makes being in business so easy and enjoyable, all your friends will see you as the successful internet entrepreneur, your downline volume is so huge you win a free lease for the car of your dreams, how great is that? You made it happen.

But . . . what if you don’t stumble across a ‘Heavy Hitter’?

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it would be great and I hope you do find someone with those credentials, but, you must realize there just aren’t enough heavy hitters for everyone to have one in their business, what do you do then?

The point I am trying to make here is this, don’t expect someone else to be responsible to build your business. Its’ your business, it’s up to YOU!

O.K.
Let’s say a great uncle you never heard of dies suddenly and you inherit a million dollars.

The only stipulation in the will is that you must use this money to buy or start your own business.

Are you going to just ‘try’ the first thing that looks good and see what happens?

I don’t think so, I hope not. I think you are going to see the opportunity that was presented to you by your benefactor; you are going to get serious and focused.

You realize that this is your shot, your one chance to really change your life and be truly successful, and the chance to provide a wonderful life for your family, just like you always imagined you would.

So why wouldn’t you take the same serious and focused approach with your own hard earned cash?

I can’t answer that question myself, it really doesn’t have an answer, but I have been there before, guilty as charged your honor.

It’s not a million dollars, but, you are looking at a business venture with the same intent. You want to change your life, you want to give your deserving family a better life and you want to be financially independent and live the dream.

So say we all.

Now, how did I get out of my ‘throw enough garbage against the wall and see what sticks’ mode of operation?

Well, the biggest reason was that I got tired of seeing the disappointment in my wife’s eyes.

I got tired of finding an excuse for the latest failed business.

That’s what brought me to TriVita. Even if you aren’t good at recruiting, you can acquire customers from the company and have a growing business. And now with the new product they’ve launched, TriVita will be airing infomercials late summer on both the product and the opportunity. You will be able to acquire these customers and there will be a percentage who will be interested in the opportunity. To me, this was the last piece to the puzzle. All reasons for failure have been removed. This product, Nopalea, has been proven to reduce inflammation and people are getting results within weeks. We can help people with their health and earn generous rewards.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cooperative Marketing model or the Share and Earn model with the new product, Nopalea, call me on 856-264-7802.

Great products create great wealth and that’s what we have with TriVita.
